The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort Wins Three Top Categories at World Travel Awards 2017

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort took home three of the top categories at the World Travel Awards Indian Ocean Gala held 8th July, Saturday at Sun Aqua Vilu Reef, Maldives.  The ultra-luxury private island was awarded Maldives Leading Luxury Island Resort 2017, Indian Ocean’s New Luxury Resort 2017 and Indian Ocean’s Leading Luxury Island Resort 2017.

Upon receiving the awards, General Manager Alexander Blair said: “We are hugely honoured to be awarded these titles by The World Travel Awards which is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence. This has found us a firm position at the pinnacle of the travel industry.”

The World Travel Awards is in its 24th year and recognises the excellence in hospitality. As regional winners, The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort will now compete head to head in the corresponding world categories, winners of which will be announced at the World Travel Awards Grand Final in December.

Regarded as a milestone event by hotels and resorts in the region, the gala ceremony held on July 8 was attended by the industry's key decision makers and figure heads as well as trade and consumer media.
Designed with great respect to its natural surroundings, The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is surrounded by a large ‘House Reef’ and the island is defined by several distinct ecological areas: lagoon, beach, coastal and jungle. At the resort, guests have the luxury of staying in one of the 77 island and overwater villas, each with a private pool.

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, which opened in November 2016, is nestled on a private Island in a secluded Maldivian Atoll, amidst thriving marine life. Just 40 Minutes from Velana International Airport by Sea Plane. Designed by WOW architects | Warner Wong Design ( Singaore ), the unusual contemporary design of The St. Regis Maldives draws inspiration from the natural setting of the resort.
