South Asian Travel Awards Signs Sponsors and Partners
South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) is the first ever travel award show dedicated toward the South Asian Region tourism sector. This year's edition of SATA will be held in the Maldives, in October.
For the upcoming event, SATA has officially announced the sponsors and partners. SATA signed a partnership agreement with Champa Central Hotel in capital city Male', which has been assigned the hospitality partner for Maldives and will host all nominees from the Maldives. Sun Online retains its official media partner title since last year, with MVHOTELS, Maldives Insider and The IslandChief named official travel media partners. The SATA Gala Ceremony will be broadcasted live by official TV partner, Public Service Media (PSM).
SATA was created by High Rise - a Maldivian event management company - and is the first of its kind to be held in the South Asian region. The concept was actualized with the endorsement of regional tourism sectors and organizations, in order to recognize and reward the most distinctive and excellent services in the region. The aim of the event is to encourage and support regional businesses, and raise the standard and quality of the region's tourism industry.
The first edition of the award show was held in November 2016 at Mount Lavinia Hotel in Sri Lanka, which concluded as a triumphant event with more than 260 nominations. This year's South Asian Travel Awards have received over 300 nominations, with an increase of participants from Maldives, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Since its launch last year, SATA has accumulated an overwhelming response and validation from major corporations including Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Colombo Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Confederation of Associated Tour Operators (India), Association of Travel and Tour Operators India (ATTOI), Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT, India), Kerala Hotel General Managers Club (KHGMC), and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
South Asian Travel Awards 2017 also received endorsement from influential local companies such as Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM), Association of Travel Agents Maldives (ATA), and local tourism promotion company Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). Another notable advocacy for the award show; Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) also officially endorsed the event by High Rise.
