Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Introduces "Xiang Ju" Exclusive For Chinese Travelers

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts stated in a recent announcement that their new service initiative for Chinese travelers, "Xiang Ju" will commence on 1st August 2017.  


The service program features seven different signature services and bespoke local experiences for outbound guests from China. The first phase of the service initiative will be launched in Island Shangri-La, at Hong Kong. Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts shared their plans to expand "Xiang Ju" to all Shangri-La branded hotels and resorts by the end of the year, which totals 41 properties in 35 destinations including; London, Tokyo, Sydney and Maldives. 


The Xiang Ju program offers a variety of 7 different services catered towards Chinese travelers, to assure that guests can find comfort away from their home, and make sure they have the best experience in Maldives possible. The seven service initiatives in Xiang Ju includes, 'WeChat Assistant'; guests will receive a QR code during hotel booking which can be used to scan and instantly connect with the hotel's China Guest Action Team. Chinese guests will also be offered 'The Bespoke Experience'; a Mandarin Chinese-speaking guide, to assist guests while they explore local culture.  


The 'We Speak Chinese' initiative ensures that Mandarin Chinese-speaking staff are always on duty to help guests with enquiries. Their fourth service 'Please Be Informed' provides guests will all hotel information, safety procedures, floor plans and an emergency contact during hotel check-in. Xiang Ju also offers a Tea Service, which includes a variety of Chinese teas to make sure guests can have their preferred choice of beverage and feel at home. The 'Your Food – The Seven Wonders' initiative consists of seven different types of Chinese congee, from different Chinese origins which will be available for breakfast.  




The last service named 'A Taste of Home' brings Chinese comfort-foods and snacks to Shangri-La, which will be available to order on the in-room dining menu. These seven travel benefits are in addition to the existing amenities at Shangri-La hotels which includes Chinese television channels, Chinese tea in guestrooms, instant noodles in mini bar and more.  


Shangri-La's Villingili Resort and Spa is the 5-star luxury resort in Maldives, run by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The resorts and hotels chain also runs Hotel Jen, Maldives in the capital city of Male'. Shangri-La's Villingili Resort and Spa is located on Marafeydhoo Island in Addu Atoll, and is accessible by a 70-minute domestic flight from Velana International Airport to Gan Airport, followed by a short speedboat ride to the resort.
