Maldives Flagship Carrier Commences Flights to Hangzhou China
Maldivian, the National Airline has expanded its flight operations to Chins with the addition of Hangzhou, China.
The inaugural flight of Maldivian flew from Hangzhou to Velana International Airport on 15th September morning around 0615hrs with 200 passengers. Airbus A321 aircraft will serve this route once a week. At present Maldivian operates to Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an, Nanjing, and Wuhan.
In a statement released by Managing Director of Island Aviation Services, Mr. Abdulla Haaris said that Hangzhou is one of the highly developed cities in China and is a prominent market for the booming Chinese tourism. Moreover, he added that with the flight operations to Hangzhou there will be a huge change in the tourist arrival to Maldives.
In addition to this with the increased demand Maldivian is trying to commence flight operations to three new cities in China.
Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang Province of China which is among one of the most popular vacation spots located in South-East China. This city is known for its beautiful landscapes and is one among the seven ancient capitals of China.
Maldivian currently operates international flights to 6 cities of China, Bangkok, Dhaka, Trivandrum, and Chennai. Moreover, they are currently researching to extend their routes to South Africa.
