Fushifaru Investments Pvt. Ltd. has opened its first resort, Fushifaru Maldives, on October 24, 2017, welcoming its first guests in a fashionably Maldivian style with bodu beru (traditional drums) and blowing the ‘Sangu’ (conch shell).
Fushifaru Maldives has embedded the historically significant practice of blowing the conch to call attention to important announcements as a way of announcing guest arrivals in the resort, as well as a way of welcoming them.
Located in Faadhippolhu Atoll, commonly known as Lhaviyani Atoll, the resort’s name was inspired by ‘fushi’ (island) and ‘faru’ (reef) in the local language. The resort boasts a gateway to a legendary landscape between two channels connecting the atoll’s inner lagoon to the Indian Ocean. The bigger channel, Fushifaru Kandu, is a national Marin Protected Area and houses three iconic dive sites including Fushifaru Thila – one of the most popular dive sites in the Maldives.
The 49 beach and water villas are display the perfect balance of Maldivian designs and modern aesthetics; catering numerous choices to adventurists, conservationists and traditionalists. Guests can choose international breakfast, lunch and dinner from Korakali, or visit Raakani Grill to enjoy signature Asian recipes with the finest local seafood. The Fanihandhi Bar is the perfect place to go for detoxtails and sunset cocktails.
