Intercontinental Hotels Group Hires New Chief Development Officer

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) announced the appointment of Rajit Sukumaran as their new Chief Development Officer in the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region.

 

IHG currently operates across nearly 40 countries and territories in AMEA, and has an established reputation as a valued partner for successful hotel owners and investors globally. In his new role, Rajit will lead the Development team and be in charge of the Group’s growth strategy.

 

Rajit has an impressive resume as he brings more than 12 years of experience in Development, Acquisitions, Feasibility from his previous role as Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development, Asia Pacific at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

 

Jan Smits, Chief Executive Officer AMEA stated that “Rajit brings with him vast knowledge, a stellar reputation and the ability to drive development success across brands which will prove invaluable as he drives the acceleration of IHG’s growth strategy across AMEA.”

Formerly, Rajit worked in the Corporate Finance division of PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore. He was involved with several cross-border corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings. Rajit graduated from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University with a degree of Bachelor of Accountancy.
