Kandima Maldives Hued With The Colors Of First Ever KULA Art Festival
Kandima Maldives hosts first ever Art Festival with creative festivities as part of their year-end celebrations. Held in association with Kandima Art Initiative, the KULA Art Festival was the first of its kind to be held in a resort on such a large scale.
The festival featured works from more than 20 local artists specialising in a wide range of mediums including digital, acrylic, coffee, henna, spray paint and local crafts and exhibited Maldivian aesthetics in all their glory. Additionally, the festival included beach games, art activities and plenty of grub to grab. According to Kandima Maldives the KULA Art Festival "certainly stayed true to its carnival theme with an electrifying atmosphere and an awesome line up of entertainment.
Set in front of Kandima's famous Beach Club, the festival was launched with live art demonstrations beside classes for guests to uncover their inner creativity. A range of artworks from the participating artists was also displayed through the event, offering the artists the perfect opportunity to gain international exposure.
With the setting sun, the guests took to the beach to commence the most colorful event of the day - the KULA Color Run. A trail of bursts of color in bright pink, yellow, blue and green were stretched along in a trail on one of the longest stretched of beach in the Maldives as the runners were left covered in colors from head to toe. With both adults and little ones participating, it was undoubtedly a family affair, according to Kandima Maldives.
Launched on 10th October 2017, the KULA initiative set off with a vision to promote and nurture local artistic talent and creativity, imperatively expanding the horizons for the local art community.
