Carpe Diem Maldives is scheduled to expand its operations from three high-end liveaboard cruise vessels and open Private Island Carpe Diem Beach Resort & Spa in June 2018, in Raa Atoll, Maldives. The resorts tagline ‘Social by Nature’ is suggestive of an easygoing traveller’s finesse against the backdrop of a healthy house reef and a significantly large lagoon.
The 115 private pool villas at Carpe Diem Beach Resort & Spa have sliding doors that lead to a large deck with a sun-drenched plunge pool and a shaded seating area. The accommodation choices have been designed bearing in mind the modern and social traveler, offering a vibrant addition in the revered Indian Ocean destination. In a first of its kind in the Maldivian Market, the resort houses 5 over water pool villas dedicated to solo travelers looking to share twin-bed accommodation, omitting the need for a single supplement.
The full-board stay at the resort includes house wines and beer as well as access to an inflatable water park in the private lagoon, signature dinning choices, a contemporary Spa, and an over water tapas and sunset club with a transparent dance floor, with a myriad of water sports experiences to create a truly unique, forward-thinking resort.
“With the expansion into resorts, Carpe Diem Maldives becomes the only hospitality brand in the country to offer year-round liveaboard cruises that can be combined with resort stay. This vibrant new offering and collection of activities brings a fresh approach to holidays, one that also meets the changing traveler demographics to this popular destination,” Managing Director of Carpe Diem Maldives Pvt. Ltd., Amir Mansoor said.
Carpe Diem Cruises is renowned for delivering a sense of discovery, adventure and excellence, and have established a solid relationship with the top echelons of the diving & leisure travel industry over the years.
“We’ve taken the knowledge and experience gathered over the last 10 years, listening to our guests’ preferences, observing the changing demands from global travelers, to create a resort with a social and vibrant personality,” Assistant Managing Director, Agnes van Linden said.
Located on the cusp where Raa and Baa Atolls meet, the resort area is rich in marine diversity, with Hanifaru UNESCO Marine Biosphere just 15 minutes away by speedboat. With a rich and rare coral species, Carpe Diem Beach & Spa Resort attracts over 215 species of fish.
The resort’s General Manager, Socrates Alvaro said that the emphasis at Carpe Diem Resort & Spa is on providing a social holiday where like-minded travelers can meet. He said today’s holidaymakers seek a more engaging environment paired with excitement rather than romance and honeymoon emphasis. He added that with the new budget airline routes to Male’, the Maldives is more accessible to a much wider demographic than before.
The resort is a 40-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport, or a 20-minute flight to Dharavandhoo Domestic Airport in Baa Atoll combined with a 25-minute speedboat ride. Full-board rates accommodating 2 adults and 2 children, or 3 adults start from USD899 per villa, per night, and USD450 for solo travelers in a shared twin-bed over water pool villa. The resort is accepting bookings for stays from June 1, 2018. For more information, visit www.carpediembeachresort.com
