Maldives has procured an impressive fourth place from the
list of 20 most romantic destinations in the world.
Announced last week by 'Brides', a premier bridal magazine
published by American mass media company Condé Nast, Maldives was listed
amongst their world's most honeymoon worthy destinations.
Maldives was beautifully described by Brides magazine as
"lush, picture perfect islands" that are "light years beyond your
average beach destination". The article also went on to mention a few
private island resorts "ringed by coral reefs, teaming with fish and the
occasional shark", such as Soneva Jani, St. Regis Maldives Vommuli, and
the Four Seasons Maldives Private Island at Voavah.
The bimonthly magazine's suggestion for honeymooners
travelling to Maldives was to "spend your days snorkeling, scuba diving,
and lounging on the deck of your overwater villa; by night, dine by candlelight
on freshly caught fish and organic veggies, then follow that with a stargazing
sesh with a NASA worthy telescope."
Brides magazine related with their audience stating that
picking the perfect honeymoon is no easy feat, with countless romantic
destinations, endless hotel options and limited vacation time. Regardless, they
went on to assure that whether you're looking for bucket list hotels and
resorts, far flung beaches, the top cruise lines for couples, inexpensive
honeymoon ideas, or unexpected honeymoon worthy locales; the Brides Honeymoon
Awards is the place to find it.
Brides teamed up with Virtuoso, a global network of more
than 15,000 luxury travel specialists, to provide a list of the most romantic,
luxe hot spots in the world. Among other destinations to win this prestigious
award were; French Polynesia, Italy, The Hawaiian Islands, Greece, Bali,
Mexico, Thailand, Fiji, South Africa, France, St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos,
Costa Rica, Seychelles, Australia, New Zealand, St. Barth, Jamaica and
Dominican Republic.
Maldives has received several international and regional
recognitions for being amongst the romantic destinations in the world. Surveys
and studies analysing travel trends have also shown that a healthy majority of
travellers that choose the Maldives are honeymooners. To be included alongside
so many of the most incredible wonders of the world, by a distinguished
publication such as Brides magazine is truly a privilege.
