PSM Launched The Maldives TV Channel at ITB To Entertain and Promote The Destination
Public Service Media, the
official state media of Maldives has officially launched MaldivesTV channel on Thursday at the World’s Largest Tourism Fair, ITB Berlin Travel Trade Fair. The
channel was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism, Maldives, Mr.
Moosa Zameer with officials and representatives
from the Maldives Tourism Industry.
The International Channel expresses the company’s full commitment to introduce a cost effective way for tourism businesses operating in the industry to maintain promotional activities to target markets.
It is confirmed to be broadcasted in English and aims to bring the subscribers content rich with valuable information about the Maldivian culture, history and lifestyle. The State Media believes, the channel would not only promote Maldives as a dream tourism destination, but also assist potential tourists in planning their vacation. The team hopes to gain knowledge on the accommodation choices that best suit their budget and requirements.
With most of the potential source markets reached by different social media platforms, MaldivesTV plans on continuously providing up-to-date information to the viewers with strong additional distribution channels such as special mobile application and website supported by social medias including facebook, twitter and Instagram.
Public Service Media is currently operating 4 TV Channels, 3 radio channels, a news website and also running a print magazine. The platforms are are efforts by the government to incessantly raise awareness, entertain and promote the country.
