Hundreds of luxury openings all across the globe, and going through the whole list could be time consuming too. 1. Soneva Jani, Maldives

Soneva; one of the premier hotel brands that we all love scores the first mention on the list as they are gearing up for the opening of Soneva Jani. The sophistication and exclusivity of this resort is, once again expected to further broaden the footprint of Soneva in the Maldives.  

Being true to the brand’s creative ideas and exclusive organic style, Soneva Jani is set to offer villas built on both over-water and on land – of the highest quality. The resort which is being developed on Medhufaru Island in Noonu Atoll is about 35 minutes away from the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport by seaplane and an hour’s trip away from speedboat from Soneva Fushi.

Opening: Late 2016, possibilities of being pushed to early 2017

2. Six Senses Bhutan, Bhutan

With a mission to create exceptional guest experiences in stunning settings, Six Senses Bhutan is set to offer guests an in-depth experience of the stunning and captivating destination, surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery. Six Senses believe that the creation of five properties will indeed add up for the ultimate circuit experience.

The journey of these five properties offer guests the exclusive opportunity to experience the scenery and monuments of the destination. It will sport 82 guest suites which will be distributed between five small lodges in Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey, Bumthang and Paro.

3. St. Regis Vommuli, Maldives

Located in Dhaalu Atoll, a 40-minute seaplane ride from the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is preparing to offer refined luxury as the island is surrounded by the untainted beauty of the Maldives. Hospitality giant Starwood Hotels & Resorts will be offering 77 exquisitely styled private villas in the resort as well as a spa, infinity pool, a state- of- the- art fitness center along with a dive and activity center.

The St. Regis Vommuli Resort will be joining Starwood’s vibrant portfolio in the Maldives which includes; W Retreat & Spa Maldives and Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa.

Opening: September 2016

4. Miavana-Private Island, Madagascar

Here’s an exotic destination to add to your bucket list; the fabulous ultra-luxury lodge created by Time + Tide, on the private island of Nosy Ankao. The island off the north-east of Madagascar, is home to Miavana: the first ultra-luxury lodge in the country.

The lodge is set to feature 14 spacious one to three bedroom villas which will stun guests with never-ending views across to the mainland, perfect for the nature lovers!

5. One&Only Seef, Bahrain

One&Only Resorts is set to launch their first hotel in Bahrain; on the exotic location of the north-west coast of Seef, which comes with the advantage of a private beachfront! The resort will feature about 150 high-class guest rooms, suites and villas.

The stunning One&Only in Seef will also feature world-class dining and retail choices, along with a sublime Givenchy Spa.

Opening: 2016

6. Lux* North Male’Atoll, Maldives

The second resort by Mauritian hotelier LUX*, the LUX* North Male’ Atoll will be only 45 minutes by speedboat from the capital. The resort will offer guests striking private pool villas, designed using wood and glass to flood the interiors with natural light.

LUX* claims that the six hectare picnic island of Olhahali will be transformed into the most innovative resort in the destination, which offers 60 double storey residences that sits either on the beach or over water.

Opening: Late 2016, possibilities of being pushed to early 2017

7. Four Seasons Hotel At The Surf Club, USA

Within the reach of about 1,000 feet of pristine Atlantic beachfront, this ambitious project by Four Seasons is an exclusive oasis of just 77 guest rooms, including five beachfront Cabana Suites, as well as 31 Private Residence suites.

Four Seasons Hotel At The Surf Club would be the brands fourth establishment in the sunshine state of Florida in the USA. Guests can enjoy hours of luxury in a poolside cabana or rediscover relaxation in the spa.

8. Six Senses Zil Pasyon, Seychelles

In one of their most aspiring projects to date, Six Senses is gearing up to offer some of the most enthralling sensory experiences in the world, at the magical location of the Félicité Island in Seychelles, where the Zil Pasyon Resort is to be established.

The 30 villa Six Senses Zil Pasyon occupies about one third of the island’s land total - the rest is left to the beauty of nature and wildlife, unspoiled. The resort includes 30 villas plus 17 private residences alongside six unique dining and bar venues on the island, sport and leisure facilities, three pristine sandy beaches and an outdoor main pool.

9. Bawah Private Island, South China Sea

The new destination of five pristine islands protecting three gin-clear lagoons in the South China Sea will offer 35 beautiful bedroom villas, two bars, one dining room, a spa and yoga pavilion, a swimming pool and myriad discoveries for guests.

10. The St. Regis Langkawi, Malaysia

St. Regis is expanding their portfolio this year with yet another luxury opening in Asia; The St. Regis Langkawi in Malaysia. With 85 suites and 3 villas, this property has a private beach and the largest “swimmable lagoon” on the island.

This marks their first resort in Malaysia, with St. Regis Kuala Lumpur right behind on its heels. The hotel also boasts an expensive spa and five restaurants and bars, for its guests to indulge in.
